We have spent a lot of time over this menu trying to give you a choice of both traditional British meals and something a little different. We take pride in using produce from our local area and will happily recommend any to you for products you enjoy. I would like to thank you for coming for dinner and if there are any special requirements you need please don’t hesitate to ask any member of our team

Homemade Soup
The chefs choice of soup, served with a warm homemade roll and butter £4.85

The Fox and Goose Cocktail
Succulent prawns, dressed with a Marie Rose sauce, on shredded Iceberg lettuce, crisp apple and tomatoes, then topped with ribbons of smoked salmon and finished with a wholemeal loaf £5.95

Chicken Tikka Salad
Tender chicken marinated in tikka spices and char grilled served on a shredded salad with a pair of naan pockets and a helping of mango chutney £5.50

Nachos with Cheese
Shallow fried tortilla chips topped with cheese and then baked till golden, topped with homemade salsa, sour cream and chopped chillis. A large plate full big enough to share. £6.95

Oak Smoked salmon

Slow smoked Scottish salmon topped with a herby creamed cheese and served with one of our homemade wholemeal loafs £5.95

Homemade garlic baguette
A freshly baked garlic baguette sliced on the angle and filled with our fresh creamy garlic butter £3.50, With Cheese £3.95

At the Fox and Goose we take pride in our Beef. All our steaks are hand cut and char-grilled the way you request them, served with pan fried mushrooms, homemade onion rings and a grilled tomato, then finished with a pile of steak chips.

We also have a selection of steak sauces to compliment your steak, choose from Pink Peppercorn, Red Wine, Mushroom, Diane or Port and Stilton. £1.95

The Fox and Goose Mixed Grill Plate
Our old fashioned full plate of meat, steak, sausage, lamb, gammon and liver with all the usual extras. a serious plate full £15.95

Grilled Horseshoe Gammon
A grilled gammon topped with pineapple and a fried egg, served with chips, peas and a baked tomato £9.95

Ground Gourmet Beefsteak Burger
Seasoned ground steak, char grilled and topped with a crisp salad, mayonnaise, gherkin and American mustard, then served with hand cut chips and our own coleslaw £8.95
Add a choice of extra toppings for £1 per item

Home made steak and kidney Pudding
A British classic, slow cooked steak and kidney encased in suet pastry and steamed till ready. This really is a huge dinner so just needs some seasonal vegetables to finish it. £11.95

Chef’s special chicken pasta

A chicken escalope breaded with a sun blushed tomato crust then served on a bed of spicy tomato and pepper spaghetti £9.95

Hunters Chicken

A classic dish everyone loves, chicken breast wrapped in bacon and topped with a Smokey barbecue sauce and cheddar cheese then finished with golden brown cheddar mash £10.95

Button Mushroom and saffron linguine

Pan fried mushrooms in a creamy saffron sauce served over a bed of linguine then topped with deep fried courgette ribbons £8.95

Winter Stilton and Vegetable Pie

A selection of fresh vegetables wrapped in a stilton sauce and topped with a puff pastry lid served with a choice of our chefs special potatoes £8.95

Poached Haddock
Natural smoked haddock from our local smoker, lightly poached in milk then topped with a poached egg from our own chickens. Served on a bed of creamed mash potato. £10.95

As a perfect accompaniment to our haddock why not try our smoked saffron sauce £1.95

Beer battered Cod
Fresh cod in a homemade beer batter, served with chips, peas and tar tare sauce £9.95

Salmon Mornay gratin

A wild salmon filet served on a bed of sliced potatoes and topped with our own cheese sauce then grilled till golden £9.95

All the meals are prepared and cooked fresh to order, so during busy periods please be patient
